If a student has submitted their answers to a quiz but then contacts you stating that they made a mistake and hadn't finished their work, or otherwise misunderstood the assignment, you can convert a set of submitted answers back into an active quiz. There are some special considerations for this, however.
- If it is outside of the normal quiz dates when you take this action, you will also need to give the student special permission to access the quiz outside of the normal dates.
- If the quiz was timed, and the student ran out of time, you will also need to give the student more time to complete the quiz.
- If the quiz only allows single access, you will also need to give the student additional access to the quiz.
- If the quiz was timed, and the countdown timer was set to continue running even when the student leaves the quiz page, you will need to both (a) give a very large amount of time for the student to complete the quiz, using the date and time that the student started taking the quiz as the basis for the number of minutes to give more time, and (b) coordinate with the student as to an exact window in which the student will be able to access the quiz.
How to Convert Submitted Answers Back Into an Active Quiz
