Syllabus: Managing Objectives in the Course Learning Objectives Section

The Course Learning Objectives section in the Syllabus Builder tool is a bit different from most sections in that you can only add single lines of text representing the objectives of your course. For official, academic courses at the School of Public Health, you will need to submit any changes you make to this section to the BSPH course system for review and approval.

 

How to Add Learning Objectives

  1. Click Syllabus Builder under Content Tools on the main faculty tools page.
  2. Click the pencil icon on the right side of the Course Learning Objectives section.
  3. Type the new objective into the box at the bottom of the objectives list.
  4. Click the plus sign button ( + ) next to the box at the bottom of the objectives list.
  5. Repeat steps 3-4 until all the objectives are added.
  6. Click Save.


How to Edit Learning Objectives

  1. Click Syllabus Builder under Content Tools on the main faculty tools page.
  2. Click the pencil icon on the right side of the Course Learning Objectives section.
  3. Click the Edit link for the objective that you would like to edit.
  4. Make changes to the objective.
  5. Click Save.


How to Reorder Learning Objectives

  1. Click Syllabus Builder under Content Tools on the main faculty tools page.
  2. Click the pencil icon on the right side of the Course Learning Objectives section.
  3. Click and drag the handle handle.png to move an objective to a different position on the list. A red dashed line will appear to direct you to an available position as you drag the handle up or down.
  4. Continue to do this for each objective until all objectives are listed in the preferred order.
  5. Click Save.

 

How to Delete Learning Objectives

  1. Click Syllabus Builder under Content Tools on the main faculty tools page.
  2. Click the pencil icon on the right side of the Course Learning Objectives section.
  3. Click the Delete link for the objective that you would like to remove.
  4. Click Save.

Note: There is no confirmation alert when deleting a learning objective. Once the delete link is clicked, the objective will be removed. If you'd like to undo the deletion, click the X in the top right corner of the window to exit edit mode and return to the main Syllabus Builder page.
