Tags are terms you add to a question that help you organize and more quickly find specific questions in your Question Bank. To add a tag to a question, simply type a word into the Tags (optional) field on the add/edit question form. Spaces delineate individual tags. Tags are also required on questions if you want to include those questions in tag rule-based quizzes.
Tags can be anything. "Week1" can be a tag. "multipleChoice" can be a tag. "Henderson" can be a tag. "firstTermAY22-23" can be a tag. Just remember that tags are single "words" or combinations of words without spaces. A space delineates one tag from the text in the tags box on the the add/edit question form.
How to Filter the Display of Questions Based on Tags
A number of views in the Quiz Generator, like the Question Manager > Add/Edit/Remove Questions page and the main Question Bank page, let you filter all the questions in your Question Bank by tags.
Clicking on a tag in one of these views shows you only the questions that match the selected tag(s). You can select more than one tag by clicking on multiple tags, but when you do this, tags are additive. It's the same as saying "only show me questions that match this tag and this other tag."
