Faculty and TAs can view a report that shows them which students attended a LiveTalk in their class, and which students downloaded a recording — if downloadable recording files are provided on the course LiveTalk page.
How to See LiveTalk Attendance and Recording Downloads
- Navigate to the Faculty Tools page in your course site.
- Under Administrative Tools > Student Activity Reports, click LiveTalk attendance.
A sample LiveTalk attendance report appears below:
The report shows each LiveTalk in a column. In each column are Attended Live Session and Downloaded Recording sub-columns.
If a student attended the live session by clicking the Join LiveTalk button for the session, a checkmark appears next to their name in the Attended Live Session column. No checkmark for a student means that the student did not attend the session live.
If a student downloaded any version of the recording from CoursePlus, the file type (video, transcript, text chat, audio) will appear in the Downloaded Recording sub-column. The date and time on which the student first downloaded that file appear.
Note: If you post a link to a LiveTalk recording on Zoom, CoursePlus cannot track student viewing of that recording. If you only provide a link to a LiveTalk recording on Zoom, there is no way of knowing which students accessed that recording.
Note: If you provided the direct link to the live Zoom session to students, their attendance will not be captured in this report. That's why it's important to add the Zoom link to each LiveTalk session so that students can access each session in a consistent, trackable way.
