Faculty and TAs have access to a report that allows them to get a sense of each student's activity in the Discussion Forum of a course. Listed alongside each student's name is their date/time of last post, total number of postings, total size of postings (by number of characters), number of topics started, as well as the number of posts reacted to.
How to See Discussion Forum Activity by Each Student
- Navigate to the Faculty Tools page in your course site.
- Find Administrative Tools > Student Activity Reports.
- Under Discussion Forum, click Activity by each student.
Note: The color of the text in the Last Post column highlights student names in red if they have not posted for more than a week. Therefore, this color distinction should not be mistaken for on-time or past-due posts. There are no official due dates within the Discussion Forum tool itself, though Discussion Forum activities on the course schedule might list due dates.
