A Gradebook is available in each course site. The Gradebook can be accessed from the main Faculty Tools page in any course site.
To set up your Gradebook, click Set Up Gradebook at the top of any page in the Gradebook.
From the setup page you are able to choose the overall grading method (percentage or points), add categories and graded items, and select whether to display the final grade in the student view.
Gradebooks should be set up to mimic the course methods of assessment indicated in the syllabus. While many classes have greater complexity in grading than what is displayed in the methods of assessment in the syllabus, those should, at a minimum, be included in the Gradebook. You can add nuance to your grading by using categories and graded items.
Note: If you do not add categories or graded items to the Gradebook setup, nothing appears on the student view of the Gradebook.
You can also choose to display the student's final grade in the individual student's view of the Gradebook. Displaying individual assignment grades can be done when a graded item is added to the Gradebook or from the Enter Grades screen of each individual graded item.
