Discussion Forum Search

The search feature allows you to look for specific messages and topics. You can type in a word or phrase and use that to search the body of a message or even the title of a topic. You can also search for topics by posts authored by faculty and students.

How to Search Discussion Forum Posts

  1. Click Discussion Forum under Communication Tools on the main Faculty Tools page.
  2. Click the Magnifying glass search icon link at the top of the page.
  3. Type a word or phrase in the Search Terms field.
  4. Select Also search topic names if you would also like to search topic titles as well as the body of the message.
  5. You may limit by date (optional).
  6. Click Search.

 

How to Search Discussion Forum Posts by Author

  1. Click Discussion Forum under Communication Tools on the main Faculty Tools page.
  2. Click the Magnifying glass search icon link at the top of the page.
  3. Type a word or phrase in the Search Terms field.
  4. Select the name of the student author(s) in the Filter by authors box.
  5. You may limit by date (optional).
  6. Click Search.
