You can save an entire category in the Discussion Forum to an Excel file. This will result in you receiving a copy of every message that is posted in all the topics within a specific category. This is a great option if you want a thorough report that includes every post for a particular category, along with relevant metadata. This metadata includes Topic (the topic title), Posted By (the poster's name), Posted On (date/time), Post Content (the text of the post), Post ID, and Response to Post ID.
Post ID is a unique back-end identifier for each post within the Discussion Forum. Response to Post ID indicates whether or not a post is in response to another post: "0" if it is an original post, or the Post ID of the post being responded to.
How to Save a Discussion Forum Category to Excel
- Click Discussion Forum under Communication Tools on the main Faculty Tools page.
- Click Admin at the top of the page.
- Click the Save To Excel link for the appropriate category.
