To have auto-play function properly in CoursePlus, it is imperative that your chosen browser's settings allow for this functionality.
How to Enable Auto-Play in Chrome
Via Address Bar
- Navigate to a CoursePlus lecture page.
- Play the video, at least temporarily, so that the browser recognizes it.
- Select the View site information button in the address bar, represented by toggle icons.
- If the Sound setting is not enabled for courseplus.jhu.edu, select the toggle to enable it.
Via Chrome Settings
- Go to the Settings of the Chrome browser. This can be done by selecting the icon with three dots in the top right corner of the browser window, then selecting Settings near the bottom of the menu. Alternatively, you can paste "chrome://settings" in the address bar.
- Select Privacy and security from the panel on the left side.
- Under Privacy and security, select Site settings.
- Under Content, select Additional content settings.
- Select Sound.
- Either select Sites can play sound to enable the setting for all sites OR add "courseplus.jhu.edu" to the Allowed to play sound list.
How to Enable Auto-Play in Safari
Via Address Bar
- Navigate to CoursePlus.
- Secondary select the address bar.
- Select Settings for courseplus.jhu.edu.
- Next to Auto-Play, select Allow All Auto-Play from the dropdown menu.
Via Safari Settings
- Navigate to CoursePlus.
- Select Safari in the top menu bar.
- Select Settings... from the Safari menu.
- Select the Websites tab in the Settings window.
- In the General menu to the left, select Auto-Play.
- Find courseplus.jhu.edu in the list of Currently Open Websites.
- Select Allow All Auto-Play from the dropdown menu.
