Gradebooks can contain a complex set of rules and weights that are used to calculate a student's current or final grade. It can be helpful to see the exact steps taken in the process, especially if there is concern that the complexity of the Gradebook setup is not reflected correctly in the final grade calculation. Fortunately, the Gradebook in CoursePlus allows you to see the exact steps taken to arrive at a student's current or final grade.
How to View How a Student's Grade is Calculated
- Click Enter Grades on any page in the Gradebook.
- Click the By Student tab.
- Click the name of the desired student.
- Click View This Student's Personal Gradebook Page in the upper-right corner of the page.
- On the student's personal Gradebook page, click Show Grade Calculation Details page for [Student Name] at the top of the page.
The grade calculation details show you the exact steps that CoursePlus took in calculating a student grade. All rules for the Gradebook (categories, percentage weights, drop high/low scores, extra credit) are all followed and you can see how the rules are executed in the grade calculation details view.
