Faculty and TAs can lock wikis to prevent students from editing wikis. This is useful if the wiki is used to collaborate on an assignment that has a due date. If the assignment due date has been extended then the wiki can be unlocked and students can continue to edit.
How does locking a wiki differ from marking a wiki as finished?
