If the file that you would like to upload to the Drop Box tool is located in an online storage account, you can upload the file without having to first save the file to your computer's hard drive. A third party application named FilePicker is used to provide a safe connection between the Drop Box tool and your online storage account.
How to Connect to Dropbox
- Click Drop Box under the Resources dropdown menu on any course page.
- Click the Submit File(s), Finish Submitting Files, or Resubmit File(s) button next to the appropriate Drop Box.
- If there is more than one assignment part, you will see an upload box for each part. Click the Pick a file... button.
- Click Dropbox on the far left of the upload window.
- Click Connect Dropbox.
- Wait for FilePicker to establish a connection and then sign into your Dropbox account.
- Click the Allow button to allow connection between FilePicker and your Dropbox account.
- Browse Dropbox and then select the file.
- Click the Upload button to submit the file to the Drop Box assignment.
How to Connect to Google Drive
- Click Drop Box under the Resources dropdown menu on any course page.
- Click the Submit File(s), Finish Submitting Files, or Resubmit File(s) button next to the appropriate Drop Box.
- If there is more than one assignment part, you will see an upload box for each part. Click the Pick a file... button.
- Click Google Drive on the far left of the upload window.
- Click the Sign in with Google button.
- Wait for FilePicker to establish a connection and then sign into your Google Drive account.
- Click the Accept button to allow connection between FilePicker and your Google Drive account.
- Browse Google Drive and then select the file.
- Click the Upload button to submit the file to the Drop Box assignment.
How to Connect to Box
- Click Drop Box under the Resources dropdown menu on any course page.
- Click the Submit File(s), Finish Submitting Files, or Resubmit File(s) button next to the appropriate Drop Box.
- If there is more than one assignment part, you will see an upload box for each part. Click the Pick a file... button.
- Click Box on the far left of the upload window.
- Click the Connect Box button.
- Wait for FilePicker to establish a connection and then sign into your Box account.
- Browse Box and then select the file.
- Click the Upload button to submit the file to the Drop Box assignment.
Tip: If you take too long to establish a connection, you may be prompted to return to the FilePicker window. If so, click the connect button again to re-establish a connection.
Note: If you see a blank screen instead of files stored in your account, try to re-establish a connection following the tip above. If that doesn't work, you may need to log out of online courses, clear your browser's cache, log back in and then try to establish a connection again.
