There are a variety of instances in which you may want to limit access to Drop Boxes. The most straightforward way is by using the existing groups in a course and making different Drop Boxes available to different groups.
However, you can also take advantage of the connection between Course Groups and Drop Box for other purposes. Perhaps there are a lot of Drop Boxes in the course and you want to simplify students' view, or maybe you need to set up a Drop Box for a special purpose that only a few students will actually use. To address scenarios like these, you can make a Drop Box that is only available to select groups. Students not in the selected group(s) will not see the Drop Box in their dashboard, nor will they be able to access the Drop Box.
Note: Drop Boxes that are not available to all groups cannot be added to the schedule.
