A rich text editor is an interface for text editing that includes more advanced styling options than plain text. Major benefits of this editor are being able to see any formatting displayed as you work as well as preserving formatting information that is pasted in. A rich text editor is used throughout CoursePlus.
There are two options for how to paste content in the rich text editor in CoursePlus: Paste as plain text and Paste from Word. The Paste as plain text button will remove all formatting associated with the content, such as italics or hyperlinks. Conversely, Paste from Word will preserve all formatting associated with the content and paste that into the editor as well.
If you are unsure of what paste option to use, our strong recommendation is to use Paste from Word since it will preserve the most amount of information. Additionally, it is always possible to alter the content within the rich text editor afterwards if something needs to change. However, if content is pasted as plain text, valuable information like hyperlinks may be lost if not stored elsewhere.
Note: The default paste option when using a keyboard shortcut is Paste from Word.
