Page Builder allows you to build entire pages in your CoursePlus site. Pages can be for any purpose you need. You can use them to describe in-class activities, term projects, give guidance on exams, provide a collection of related resources, and more.
Page Builder pages are most often linked to items in Schedule Builder for display on the main course content page. You can link a number of different items to Page Builder pages so that those items appear on the page. The links to these items update automatically with each new offering of the class. Items you can link to Page Builder pages include:
- Files from the Online Library
- Quizzes or exams from the Quiz Generator
- Signup Sheets
- Peer Assessments
- Surveys
- Discussion Forum Posts
Note: If you are creating a Page Builder page solely for the purpose of linking it to a quiz, survey, Drop Box, or some other tool, you should consider directly linking that item to the course schedule instead. This will allow you to synchronize dates between these tools and the schedule, and it makes due dates easier to follow for students. For more information on linking to various CoursePlus tools directly from the schedule, please refer to the section on Linking Events to CoursePlus Tools.
Important: There are two types of pages in Page Builder: Lecture and Standard pages. Lecture pages are for CTL-produced online lectures only and must be created by a CTL instructional designer. Standard pages are for any other purpose. You can have an Standard page with the title "Lecture," but it will not include CTL-produced online lectures.
You can archive Page Builder pages. Archived pages are pages that you may no longer wish to use but want to keep for historical reasons. Archived pages cannot be linked within the course and are not included in any type of quality control measures.
