Assignment Assistant is a suite of four generative AI-powered tools designed for BSPH academics to enhance creativity, efficiency, and structured assignment feedback. Each tool uses fixed prompts based on user-provided and course-specific information. These tools are a resource that can complement the pedagogical collaboration offered with CTL instructional designers or other knowledgeable individuals.
Important:
- You must check the acknowledgement page before being able to access Assignment Assistant.
- The content you provide, including any uploaded documents, is not used to train ChatGPT (the platform generating the output) in any way.
- The return time of the tools' output, displayed on-screen in your browser's window, is efficient but always dependent on resources beyond CoursePlus.
- All results should be scrutinized and evaluated with a critical lens that evaluates potential bias and misinformation that accompanies AI output.
- All results should be further evaluated for their relevance and applicability in the broader context of your course, learning objectives, students, and personal resources, including the time available to implement any activities.
- The tools do not support interactive chat; HopGPT is available to faculty interested in conversational AI.
The four tools are listed below, along with an explanation of their purpose:
- Rubric Builder: Creates precise evaluation tools by converting detailed assignment instructions into comprehensive analytic or objective rubrics. Faculty input learning objectives and other contextual information to generate assessment tools that ensure systematic evaluation of graduate student mastery.
- Assignment Insight: Evaluates pedagogical alignment and clarity of assignment instructions while analyzing structure, timeline feasibility, and grading efficiency to identify potential issues with rigor, ambiguity, or overly restrictive requirements.
- Assignment Creator: Generates assignments directly aligned with specified learning objectives, complete with instructions and a deliverable checklist. Each generated assignment maintains high academic standards while providing a foundation for customization to specific course needs.
- AI Defender: Analyzes an existing assignment and identifies elements that could be completed using generative AI tools. Based on this analysis, it provides specific recommendations to modify the assignment, making it more resistant to AI-generated responses while preserving learning objectives and academic standards.
