Attendance Tracker allows the faculty or TAs of an on-campus course to generate a PIN that students must use when marking themselves as present for a class. The PIN is then distributed to students by the faculty or TAs at a time of their choosing. Entering the correct PIN is required if a student tries to sign in as being present for that class session.
How To Enable a PIN for Student Sign-In:
- Click Class attendance from the Administrative Tools section of the main Faculty Tools page.
- Click Add Class Session.
- Select the Require PIN for student sign-in checkbox.
- Save.
Require PIN for student sign-in is now enabled. The PIN generated is displayed under the class session details.
Note: Once the PIN is generated, many faculty include the PIN within their slides for the class or announce the PIN during the class session.
