Below is a brief description of all the options available to you when creating and editing an event in Schedule Builder. Detailed instructions are available for some of the options. To view the instructions, click the active title link.
Select which tool to link the event to (if applicable).
Event Type
Enter the clickable subtitle that will appear next to the Title on the Content page. Shorter is usually better for this field. If you first select an option from the Associate Event with field, the Event Type will be automatically filled, though it can also be manually changed.
Title
Enter the main title for the event. If you first select an option from the Associate Event with field, the Title may be automatically filled, though it can also be manually changed.
Additional Information
Enter any additional information you would like associated with the event. This information will appear below the Title.
Instructional Design Notes

Mask Available Date
Check this box if you would like the Available On date to be hidden from students. The Available On date will still be in use but will not be visible from the student view.
Check this box if you wish to create a Drop Box that is associated with the event. The Drop Box will then appear on the main Course Drop Box page with the same title as the event listed in the Schedule Builder tool. The open and due dates for the Drop Box will be controlled by the dates in the event in Schedule Builder.
Available On
Enter the date you wish the event to become available (clickable) to students. The date entered will also dictate if/when the event is included in "Daily Course Notification" emails.
Due Date
Enter the date you wish the event to be considered "due." This is most applicable to assignments and assessments, and it is an optional field.
Access Ends
Enter the date you wish the event to no longer be available (clickable) to students. This can be the same as the Due Date or a different date entirely, and it is an optional field.
Hide this event
Toggle this button if you would like to hide the event from students. The event will still exist in Schedule Builder but will not be visible from the student view.
Listed below are some specific event options when linking to certain tools:
Page Builder Page
Include in Lecture Numbering on Schedule
Check this box if you wish the event to be automatically numbered alongside other lectures with the same setting enabled. The numbering is based on the event's position in the schedule and is appended to the Event Type. Note that this option is only present for Lecture pages and not Standard pages.
Include Faculty Name(s) in Description
Check this box if you wish to append the faculty names as defined on the lecture page to the Title.
Always Available (overwrites "Available" date)
Check this box if you wish to make the event always available (clickable) to students.
Quiz
Use the start/end dates currently set in Quiz Generator for this quiz
Check this box if you wish to synchronize the dates for the quiz already set in the Quiz Generator. With this setting enabled, changes to the dates in either tool will cause the other tool to update as well.
Web Page
URL
Enter the URL of the page you wish the link to go to.
