Enabling the Low Vision Font Option

Atkinson Hyperlegible is a font designed by accessibility experts at the Braille Institute that focuses on letterform distinction to increase character recognition, ultimately improving readability. The font differentiates common misinterpreted letters and numbers using various design techniques, including making characters that look similar, like the letter “O” and the number zero (0) look unambiguously different. When this option is selected, Atkinson Hyperlegible is used wherever possible in CoursePlus. Some custom content generated by faculty, staff, or students cannot be changed to use OpenDyslexic. However, the vast majority of content in CoursePlus will display using this font.

How to Enable the Low Vision-Friendly Font

1. Log into CoursePlus.
2. Click the Edit My CoursePlus Account link on the left side navigation pane.
3. Click on the Preferences link in the upper right of the page.
   
4. Select the Use a low vision-friendly font where possible in CoursePlus option.
5. Click Update My CoursePlus Preferences.

How to Disable the Low Vision-Friendly Font

1. Log into CoursePlus.
2. Click the Edit My CoursePlus Account link on the left side navigation pane.
3. Click on the Preferences link in the upper right of the page.
   
4. Deselect the Use a low vision-friendly font where possible in CoursePlus option.
5. Click Update My CoursePlus Preferences.
