While the Schedule Builder tool makes for clean, linear viewing of all the content and activities in a course, its real power comes from linking individual events to other content and activities in a CoursePlus site. Most courses create all of their activity and assignment information in Page Builder, and then link individual lecture, activity, and assignment pages to Schedule Builder.
Note: Follow the same steps to link to a quiz, survey, Peer Assessment, Drop Box, Signup Sheet, or any other tool in the Associate Event with field.
How to Link an Event to a Page Builder Page (or Other Course Content)
- Click Schedule Builder on the main Faculty Tools page.
- Either click on the light blue bar for the appropriate event in the schedule or create a new event by clicking Add New Event.
- Select Page Builder from the Associate Event with dropdown.
- Select the specific Page Builder page you want to link to from the second dropdown. If the page has not yet been created, you will need to create one first.
- Select the date on which you want the link to the page to become active in the Available On field.
- If you prefer to make the link Always Available to students, click that checkbox. Keep in mind that if this is enabled, the link will always be active, regardless of any other date displayed.
- If the Page Builder page describes an activity that has a due date, enter the due date in the Due Date field.
- If you want to turn off the link to the page at some point, enter that date in the Access Ends field.
- Click Save.
Note: You can only link to any given Page Builder page one time from one event in the schedule.
