Students have access to Page Builder pages according to the "Open Date" set for the page in the Schedule Builder tool. Before that time, no students can access the page. There may be situations, however, where you want an individual student to be able to access a Page Builder page before everyone else in the class. The student may be traveling or have a personal issue that requires them to have access to the page before everyone else.
How to Allow Students to Access a Page Before It's Normally Available
- Click Page Builder on the main Faculty Tools page.
- Make sure that Pages tab is selected. It's selected by default.
- Find the page that you want to work on. Click the Manage special access button (Person icon) to the right of that page listing.
- On the page that appears, click the name of the student in the list of students on the left.
- Enter the date on which the student's special access starts in the Special Access Starts field.
- Click Grant Access.
- The student is immediately sent an email which details the page to which they have special access, the date and time when their special access starts, and a link to the page.
You can remove a student's special access to a page by returning to this view, selecting the student, and clicking Remove Access.
Note: Students do not have access to a CoursePlus site until the day the course is scheduled to begin (in the case of fully online courses) or until you make the site available to students (in the case of on-campus course sites). There is no way to give students access to a course before it's scheduled to begin or is made available to students.
