**We do not recommend using your browser for Zoom. Please download the Zoom app.**
If you are using Chrome, you will need to allow Chrome to access your microphone. Chrome adds a small, thin bar or a dialog box like this:
The prompt appears at the top of the screen asking if it can access your microphone immediately after you launch a Zoom session. If you are not prompted or you accidentally select "Block," the following image will appear on the far right side of the address bar:
The camera icon will either have a red "X" which shows that access to the microphone has been blocked, or it will have a red exclamation point (!) which lets you know that you need to tell Chrome if you allow access or not.
To allow access in either case:
- Click the camera icon on the far right side of the address bar.
- Select the option to allow connect.jhsph.edu to access your microphone. The dialog box will look something similar to this:
- Then click Done to save the setting change.
The red "X" or exclamation point (!) should then disappear letting you know that Chrome now has access to your microphone.
