I posted a message in the Discussion Forum earlier in the day, but now I would like to delete it. The trash can icon was there when I posted the message but now it’s gone. How do I delete the message?

There is probably a time limit set for that particular category or topic which prevents a post from being deleted or edited 15 minutes after it is created. If that is the case, you will see the time limit icon on the Discussion Forum Home page or you will see the words "Editing/deleting posts limited to 15 minutes after post creation" in the status section located below the topic title.
