Any item in the Gradebook can be set up as extra credit. When adding or editing a graded item, choose the extra credit option, and that item's worth will be added onto the final grade for the student. You can choose to make one item count as extra credit or all of the items in a category as extra credit.
How to Set Up a Category or Graded Item as Extra Credit
- Click Set Up Gradebook from any page in the Gradebook.
- Click Create Category or Create Graded Item. If editing an existing category or item, click the Edit button beside the appropriate category or item.
- Fill out/change information for the category or graded item.
- Select Item counts as extra credit.
- Enter the percentage that this graded item adds to students' final grades.
- Click Save.
Categories and graded items that are marked as extra credit will be designated on the student's individual view of the Gradebook as such.
